An outstanding new hostile vehicle mitigation system (HVM) – KarabloK – will be globally launched at World of Concrete in February 2016 by RSG Structures Ltd.
The modular system is designed to provide a permanent or semi-permanent security wall around sensitive locations where hostile threats may be anticipated.
It uses precast concrete units locked together with a unique coupling system to form a crash-proof barrier. Units can be mounted on top of each other to form a wall up to six metres high (five units). It is quick to deploy as it doesn’t need foundations or any ground-fixing and is easily removed by cranes and then transported by trucks to be reused elsewhere.
KarabloK has been tested and certified to the following standards* as a hostile vehicle mitigation system:
- IWA14-1:2013 Barrier V/7200[N2A]/64/90:0.4
- IWA14-1:2013 Barrier V/7200[N3C]/80/90:1.1
